EBinDW Seminar with OMEP Aotearoa NZ


OMEP Aotearoa New Zealand and OMEP Canterbury Chapter warmly invite the early childhood community and interested parties to a one-day seminar on 10/11/18 held at the University of Canterbury with this agenda.

The digital world and early childhood education – an opportunity for a better start for bilingualism in Aotearoa New Zealand. Keynote by University of Canterbury Distinguished professor Niki Davis

Three workshops (choice of two):

  • Enhancing the language environments of educational spaces with digital technologies to support emergent bilinguals, led by Leona Harris and Saili Aukuso

  • The role of language policy in supporting and valuing emergent bi-/multilingual children in early childhood education, led by Jean Kim and Jo Knudsen

  • ECE as a space for negotiating and enriching identities: Bilingual children and teachers making use of their total language resources for learning and teaching, led by Nola Harvey
